Hundreds Come To Faith In Jesus Christ
Words cannot adequately describe the travel adventure, beautiful people, and eternal impact of the last two days. We divided our large group into two teams and welcomed twelve members from our Malawian leadership team. Together, we set out to host and minister at four of Finish Line's six Women's Leadership Summit events (we will minister at the final two on Sunday).
TRAVEL ADVENTURE
On Friday and Saturday, we spent a total of 21 hours traveling. We held our breath as we bounced along narrow dirt paths, crossed shallow rivers, and climbed rugged mountain terrain to reach the remote villages and rural areas of southern Malawi. In one instance, we had to walk the last half mile because the incline was too steep for our fully loaded vehicles. Although we sometimes gripped the interior grab handles of each vehicle tightly, our two teams and four vehicles ultimately made it to each destination.
BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE
Upon arriving at each location, you are immediately struck by the smiles of the people. Despite living in one of the poorest nations in the world, the people of Malawi radiate joy.
In two specific villages, our teams were warmly welcomed by hundreds of women who danced and sang as they escorted us from our vehicles to the outdoor venue. Their love and kindness embraced us and endeared us to their hearts.
ETERNAL IMPACT
Over the course of two days, our team shared testimonies, taught Scripture, and presented the Gospel to more than 2,000 women. Each time a member of our team spoke, they were met with attentive smiles and open hearts. It is not an exaggeration to say that the women hung on every word spoken. This response was not due to anything special about our team, but rather because the women we ministered to were hungry for God's Word and eager to hear the testimonies of His people.
At the conclusion of each five- to six-hour event, we presented the Gospel and offered the women the opportunity to respond. Today, we give praise to God for the 502 women who raised their hands, walked forward, met with a counselor, and came to faith in Jesus Christ.
We are amazed by the miraculous response to the Gospel. Each decision for salvation required courage and faith. Hundreds moved from death to life, having their eternal destinies changed in that moment when they said yes to Jesus.
Keep praying. We have one more day in the remote villages. Pray that Christian women continue to grow in their faith, and pray that those without Jesus will come to faith in Him.
To God be the glory and thank you for praying!
